About me
My name's Otay, and I love game development. Expressing myself through art and code is how I cope with chronic pain. This project is largely inspired by some of my favorite games, like Diablo 2, Dragon Warrior Monsters, Final Fantasy VII, and possibly a small hint of Tetris Attack.
I view my work as a long sequence of conversations between me and my machine. Through these conversations I develop an understanding of myself as an artist, a computer scientist, and as a human being. Game development, in some way, is a process of "teaching" the computer something about yourself, which in turn is a learning process for your own self-discovery. What started out for me as a desultory exploration of game development, now reflects a great deal of who I am, and what I love to do. I look forward to sharing that with you.
